Orange County Trademark attorney and business litigation lawyer – Anthony Cartee – began his legal career in 2005. He started in Chicago as a trial lawyer honing his litigation skills. In 2007, Anthony moved home to California and joined a “lifestyle” firm as an associate lawyer focused on business and intellectual property litigation. Unfortunately, Anthony learned that “lifestyle” translates into associates maintaining their partners’ lifestyle – nothing to do with a West Coast ‘vibe…” Disappointed and wanting to make a difference for clients rather than partners, Anthony Cartee set up his own law practice in 2008.
Anthony Cartee’s law practice, Cartee, LC, concentrates on trademarks, copyrights, and IP litigation specifically aimed at small, growing businesses that were traditionally priced out of hiring passionate, effective counsel.
Anthony Cartee is a 2005 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Anthony also holds a Master of Professional Writing degree from the University of Southern California and is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of both California and Illinois.
During law school, Anthony externed for the Honorable William J. Bauer on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He was a Chicago Intellectual Property Symposium fellow and member of the Saul Lefkowitz National Trademark moot court and Willem C. Vis International Arbitration moot court teams. He served as tutor for the Introduction to IP class in law school and worked as Features Articles Editor for the Loyola University Chicago International Law Review.
After graduating law school, Anthony Cartee returned to Southern California and joined a boutique firm in Orange County, working in its litigation practice group handling a wide variety of civil matters, including intellectual property disputes. He resigned from that firm in October 2008 to start his own firm Cartee, LC, and spend more time with his young daughter.
Since 2008, Anthony has served on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California Solo & Small Firm Section, was a contributing author of The California Guide to Growing and Managing a Law Office, and currently serves on the board for the Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association. Anthony serves as of counsel and maintains relationships with other small firms that focus on areas of law outside of intellectual property, thus enabling him to better assist businesses in all matters that they may face, from employment, to securities, to probate litigation and appeals. If you have a question for him, the best thing to do is to reach out and contact him directly.
