Anthony studied law in Chicago, externed for the Honorable William J. Bauer on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and clerked for the Honorable Nancy J. Arnold in Cook County Superior Court, Chancery Division. His experience in both the state and federal courts, trial and appellate levels, and from both sides of the bench, provides his clients a unique insight and approach to their legal disputes.
He began his legal career in 2005 and returned to Southern California in 2007, joining a “lifestyle” firm focused on business and intellectual property litigation. He opened Cartee, LC, focused on providing effective, cost-effective counsel specifically aimed towards mid-size businesses traditionally priced out of taking a case all the way through trial.
Anthony is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of California and Illinois, and he has appeared pro hac vice in matters in Kansas and Tennessee. He has represented clients before multiple appellate courts, including the 9th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeal. He continues to represent clients in various Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters and has advised clients on international business disputes involving companies in Germany, Japan, and Ukraine. Anthony has advised clients and filed trademarks spanning three continents, and he remains an active member of the International Trademark Association. Anthony also continues to serve as trademark counsel and consultant to other law offices, most notably serving as of counsel to Northwest Corporate Law, based in Portland, Oregon.

Anthony holds a Master of Professional Writing degree from the University of Southern California, so he continues to look for ways to combine his professional practice with creative individuals and innovative organizations. Anthony served on the board of directors for the Vietnamese-American Arts and Letters Association, hosts of the annual Viet Film Fest in Southern California.
